We get this question nearly every single day. Everyone wants to know what “secret” allowed us to build a million-dollar company in less than five years.
Unfortunately, in today’s world, it takes a lot more to build a strong business than quality work and good customer service. Although these things are critical, they are just the beginning. By themselves, they may not be enough.
So, here’s our secret: Lots of proven and common-sense business practices wrapped up in one effective business plan. We’ve studied and analyzed every aspect of business development (lead generation, lead management, work flow, pricing, marketing, cash management, recruiting, training, automation, software implementation, and more).
The secret to quick, aggressive growth is to do all these things very, very well.

Our business model works because it's designed as a complete system of complementary pieces.
There is no silver bullet – no single all-star piece that makes it all work. Success comes from all the pieces working together.
Our marketing, customer service, scheduling, hiring, purchasing, cash flow and all the rest, are designed and fine-tuned to fit together.
What makes Driven Landscapes different from other franchises?
It seems that many franchisors provide plenty of training and information about how to perform services, but neglect the business fundamentals that are just as important, if not more.
Before launching our franchise program, we spent a lot of time researching what makes certain concepts successful while others struggle. One recurring theme among those that struggle was that there was nowhere near enough attention paid to topics like:

- cash flow management
- smart spending
- debt management
- staff management
- balanced growth
- infrastructure development
As a matter of fact, many current and past franchisees of other concepts told us that they received NO training about these critical business skills.

That is a great question and one we get often. Unfortunately, it’s neither practical nor legal for us to talk about specific numbers.
Here’s what we can tell you: You’ll be assigned a protected territory where there is virtually unlimited earning potential. You’ll be following the same business plan we did (and still do), plus you’ll have our guidance and support every step of the way.
So, while we can’t guarantee any numbers, we can point to the sales that we’ve achieved and let you know you are going to be doing the EXACT same thing that we did to build our business.
What exactly is the benefit of being part of Driven Landscapes?
There are many benefits, but the two biggest are (1) access to our business model and (2) our ongoing coaching and support.
Our mission it to teach you to build YOUR business the exact same way we built ours. It’s a system that’s produced single-location sales of nearly 3.5 million dollars since 2012, and sales of over 1.2 million dollars in 2016 alone.

We want to team up with the best and the brightest. We’ll award franchises to candidates who are intelligent, professional, and motivated to succeed, and who are a good fit for our company’s culture.
It's also worth noting that we're looking for people who are interested in owning and growing a scalable landscaping business.
How do you find so many good employees to help build the company?
If your company isn’t growing, you’ll have a hard time keeping good employees. Employees want opportunity for advancement. And a promotion isn’t just an increase in pay – good employees want to be challenged and take on more responsibility. If you’re not growing you won’t be able to provide these opportunities for your top employees. In fact, you may not be able to attract good employees to begin with.
Growth is the #1 way to ensure you have plenty of employees.
Why do you focus mostly on residential instead of commercial work?
It’s not a secret that there are better profit margins in residential work. It’s also much easier to build a company on residential business due to customer loyalty and referrals. If you provide your residential clients with quality service, they won't be putting their jobs up for bid every year like commercial properties do. Also, your residential clients will be your voice in the community and regularly refer new customers.
If it is more profitable and easier to build a client base on the residential side, why bother with commercial?
How much will the Driven Landscapes investment cost me?
There is an initial franchise fee of $25,000 which covers our costs and the initial training as we help you open and build your business (financing may be available for this fee – ask us).

We also like to see new owners have $25,000 readily available to fund their growth. This money will be spent on business startup. This money is not paid to us – this is used for YOU to build your business early on.
Are there ongoing fees?
Yes, there is an ongoing royalty fee associated with being part of the Driven Landscapes brand. These fees allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of services, marketing tools, training programs, and systems upgrades.
In short, your fees help us to grow so that we can help you to grow.
- Annual Sales: 0 - $400,000: 6%
- $400,001 - $1,000,000: 5%
- Over $1,000,000: 3.5%
Conversions from existing businesses:
4% of sales up to the company's previous year’s sales prior to joining Driven Landscapes.
For sales beyond the prior year, the startup scale will take effect.
What is the term of the franchise agreement?
The initial term of your franchise agreement is ten years, with two additional successor agreement options of five years each.
